Sample 3-Day Extension

Iceland trips can be customized as a 3-day trip extension or the full 7-day trip. The 3-day trip includes a south coast tour, a Golden Circle tour. Entrance to Secret Lagoon, Lunch at Friðheimar Tomato Farm. Glacier hike with all the necessary safety equipment (harness, helmet, axe and crampons (spikes). Private transportation in our comfortable vehicle and one of our wonderful English-speaking guides.

Take a tour of a tomato farm that uses the latest technology, in an environmentally-friendly way: green energy, pure water and organic pest controls combine to produce fresh, healthful tomatoes all year round, even in the middle of Iceland’s winter. After you learn about how technology, natural resources and human ingenuity are coming together to work for this sustainable greenhouse, sit down for a delicious lunch!

Preparing for Iceland

  • Families with children under 12 traveling to Iceland will receive a doll and storybook with cultural information about Iceland to help prepare for the trip
  • The whole family will receive recipes, books and movies preparing them for their trip
  • The warmest time to visit Iceland is July – August but these are also the most popular times for tourists. June can also be very popular with its warmer weather and 24 hours of daylight.
  • May – September is the best time of year to see whales and October – March, while cold, is the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights with February to March, and September to October – particularly around the equinoxes being the prime opportunities.
  • You do not have to avoid Iceland in the winter, but packing the proper gear is essential as the temperature can drop to –30C.
  • When visiting Iceland, always be prepared for rapid changes in weather as it is not unusual to experience multiple seasons in the same day.
  • Most Iceland activities are for children 10 years and older, but some can be modified to suit younger travelers.
  • U.S. citizens may enter Iceland without a visa for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes.
