At 400 meters below sea level, the Dead Sea is infinite in what it has to offer. Ever since the days of Herod the Great, people have flocked to the Dead Sea in search of its curative secrets. Due to high annual temperatures, low humidity and high atmospheric pressure, the air is extremely exogenous, and the high content of oxygen and magnesium in the air make breathing a lot easier, with the highest content of minerals and salts in the world, the Dead Sea water possesses anti-inflammatory properties, and the dark mud found on The shores have been used for over 2000 years for therapeutic purposes.

CommUnity Impact Opportunities

Zikra Initiative

Zikra Initiative Zikra, an initiative launched by Rabee’ Zureikat in March 2007, is dedicated to promote the Exchange concept amongst Jordanians. The initiative aims to bring people and communities closer together so they may learn and accept one another. In doing so, the initiative will bridge the socio-economic gap by bringing people from different communities across the Kingdom together through various activities.

The Zikra initiative is re-defining the traditional concept of donations and volunteer servicing by introducing the “exchange” concept. The “exchange” concept establishes a relationship between the participants and the local community of Ghor Al Mazra’a and spreads empathy, understanding and pro-activity. This is done through a reciprocation methodology.

Madrasati Initiative

Madrasati Initiative/Al-Jazazeh School The Al-Jazazeh School provides a place for kids who would otherwise not have the opportunity to be educated and receive education on a daily basis in a secure environment. Identified originally by the “Madrasati Initiative”/Jordan River Foundation, that was set up and is led by Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan, the school continues to do its best to provide an education for the children with the limited resources available. Visits can be arranged all year round except in the summer which is when the school will be closed for summer break.

Walk to Petra’s Visitors’ Center with your guide to start your full-day tour in the archaeological site. You can start your walk with an optional horse ride from the main gate of Petra to the entrance of the old city. Nowadays Petra is Jordan’s number one tourist attraction, known as the “rose-red city half as old as time”. The Khazneh (the Treasury), was featured in ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’. During the tour you have the option to participate in give-back by cleaning the site in order to keep a healthy environment.
