Visit an animal rescue center whose primary objective is to reverse the decline of seabird populations through the rescue, rehabilitation and release of ill, injured, abandoned and oiled seabirds. Kids will have a chance to volunteer, providing hands on help clean oiled penguins, pelicans, gannets and sea gulls.
Teens have even more adventure with a half-day surfing lesson, held at Muizenberg Beach. Considered by many as one of the best places in the world to learn how to surf thanks to long, gentle and frequent waves. While on safari, Spend half-day a nearby endangered animal center.
For added fun adults will take a ride in a classic WW2 sidecar ride from Victoria and Alfred Waterfront to Haut Bay ahead of the oyster and champagne toast.
While on safari, sleep under the stars in the African bush! Drift off to sleep while perched high on a custom-designed platform with the sounds of Africa in the distance.
Witness the power of Victoria Falls in a number of ways. Start with a walking tour, taking in the falls as they cascade over the cliffs to the canyons below. Consider watching (or participating!!) as brave bungee jumpers take off from the world’s largest natural bungee jump towards the Zambezi River below. A sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi River, or a game drive in the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park or take a helicopter flight along the Zambezi River through the gorges for photographic opportunities of these stunning surrounds. Don’t miss out on shopping at the local markets where you can find wood carvings, stone sculptures and other forms of exceptionally good art. Feeling adventurous – take a thrilling one-day white water rafting trip, swim at Devil’s Pool (typically September to December), or zip-lining over the gorge.
During this evening experience, your family will join a local host in their home for a shared meal around the family table. You will learn about customs and traditions while exchanging ideas on family life and culture. These opportunities will be a shared meal, cooking lesson and/or market visit where available based upon the preference of the client.
You will visit one of the newer rehabilitation centers in the region, where injured animals are nursed back to health before being released back into the wild. You will discover one unique aspect of this center, its partnership educating underprivileged, orphaned, or physically and mentally challenged children, who are given the experience of nursing these animals back to health, which in turn does wonders for their own healing.
